Borderlands Art hosted a private artist talk featuring Gloria Kiconco and Charity Atukunda, two artists from Confluence, in an intimate discussion about their creative processes and the themes of fragmentation and synthesis in their work. This exclusive event brought together collectors, cultural activators, and art enthusiasts for a meaningful exchange of ideas.

Gloria Kiconco shared insights into her zine-making practice, where she explores migration, cultural shifts, and personal storytelling through the use of barkcloth paper and associated printed pull-outs. Her work challenges the idea of art as static, instead embracing ephemerality and interaction as essential aspects of her creative expression.
Charity Atukunda discussed how her work challenges our understanding of culture while emphasizing the importance of connecting with heritage. She also spoke about her use of diverse materials and approaches, blending human, technological, and natural elements to explore evolving identities. Through her layered compositions, she investigates the coexistence of tradition and innovation, inviting reflection on how personal and collective narratives take shape in contemporary cultural landscapes.

This closed-door event provided a space for meaningful dialogue on how personal and collective narratives evolve through artistic practice. Confluence continues to highlight the ways in which separation and unity influence creative expression, fostering a deeper understanding of identity, heritage, and transformation.
