Exhibition Overview
Sculptural zines are archives of voice, printed into pages made of lubugo and vellum paper. The artworks on display are both extracts and unique sculptural zines from the series ‘Negative Space’ and ‘Cardinal Directions’. Throughout each series there is a negotiation of love that is poetically navigated between the self, the lover and the community. There is also a fragmenting of the stories whereby the pages are created into individual prints that are pulled out and enlarged to feature one image and one text, as a tender glimpse into a more complex unfolding.
Kiconco considers how text and paper become staging grounds for stories about life and relationships.
