Alexandre Kyungu Mwilambwe is a visual artist living and working in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. His artistic practice combines painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation to address notions of migration and identity, borders and space, using signs and symbols as representational agents. He uses doors and rubber as support and subject. These link to themes of urban cartography and body scarification in order to create an imaginary landscape. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa. He is the co-founder of the group Vision Total and works in collaboration with Kin Art Studio. Recent exhibitions include: Stellenbosch Triennial, Stellenbosch, South Africa (2025), EcoBiennale, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia (2025), Homo Faber, Venice, Italy (2024), Place du Souvenir Africain, Dakar, Senegal (2024), Kunsthaus Baselland, Basel (2022) Ca’ Pasero, Venice, Italy (2022), Congo Biennale, Kinshasa, DRC (2019), Rencontre PICHA Biennale, Lubumbashi, DRC (2017).
